Where are The London Atrial Fibrillation Centre?
( London AF Centre )
The London AF Centre is directed by a consultant cardiologist, Dr Richard Schilling. Patients are looked after by three consultant cardiologists, all
of whom have an international reputation in the field of management of
cardiac arrhythmia. They all specialise in cardiac rhythm problems and
specifically in complex rhythm problems like AF but they also have a broad
range of cardiac skills. Dr Richard Schilling, Dr Simon Sporton and Dr Mark
Earley between them spent over 30 years practising and training in teaching
hospitals before being appointed to prestigious positions as consultant
cardiologists at London teaching hospitals.
The London AF centre is based at London Bridge Hospital which is a private hospital but we are also able and keen to offer care to NHS patients either at the London Bridge as part of the partnership between the NHS and the private sector or at our NHS hospital St Bartholomew’s. The equipment used is first class in both hospitals and the treatment given is of exactly the same quality. The only difference between NHS and private patients is the speed with which patients receive their treatment.

The directors are important but not as important as the team. First class management of arrhythmia requires a diverse and highly skilled team to ensure that patients receive effective and humane care. Included in our team we have:
- Administrators and managers
- Arrhythmia coordinators
- Cardiac Physiologists
- Cardiac Nurses
- Doctors
- Radiographers
- Haematologists
